At 11:21pm SLT 1/10/08, Toby Howton sent notices to members of the Juke Joint Blues Club group. “Somebody attacked our Garden City Sim (where the Juke Joint lives) a few hours ago. Their main ploy was to change the land options so “No Payment Info on File” residents were thrown out. We have worked with the Lindens and resolved the issue and we are now taking steps to prevent it happening again. Apologies for the aggravation caused.” The club was incapacitated for three hours. Co-Owner Ima Flanagan said, “First, People started to disappear from the club and the messages came fast and furious. People asking why they had been tossed out his (Toby’s) club, at one point at quick count 28 had been tossed. Then I was told a ” robot” had appeared on the land saying that Toby’s club was NOW a pay club. People were enraged that Toby would do this..” Kyle Linden came to assist, but it was Toby’s genius as a programmer and scripter going about his his job that found it, according to Ima. Losses were confined to good will among patrons. The club operates on tips, but Toby says “Blues is a passion and we run the club to keep the blues alive.” Reporting live from Toby’s Juke Joint Blues club.

How can someone who is not in your group and does not have permission to change options on the land manage to get at your land tools? Was this a social hack or an actual programming hack that did this?

What is the robot of which you speak? Was this a bot that was an SL avatar logged on by a remote program?

What did Toby’s genius consist of? Are you saying that rogue third-party viewers are now being used to land bots into SL and hack into land tools? Or?

How can you have a second life when you don’t have a first one? Lame.
