What you are seeing is a neat place to travel. It’s called, Lilly’s Irish Pub and I’m in the ‘magic forest’. I’m pretty new to SL and this is the first place I’ve actually spent some time. The deer and other creatures here are fun to watch! And should you end up too tired to wander around anymore, you’ll find a cool hammock to lay your bones in! Enjoy!

Long-term residents are fond of saying that Second Life is like Real Life, but faster. In the case of snails, that is certainly true. At Montmartre on Saturday, 11/17/07, Giant Snails raced for trophies and cash prizes. Kiwi Alpha, an experienced racer, said knowing the course and knowing how to do a ‘flipturn’ are keys to winning. The event was quite a spectacle with Snails six to eight times the size of a normal avatars. Spectators seated on bleachers seemingly attached to racers, follow the snail of their choice through acrobatic maneuvers. The course is a series of switch back turns, ‘flingers’ that catapult contestants and sprints. Race host, RacerX Gullwing is putting on his third anniversary race next Saturday. He promises a new course for the anniversary that may include cannons and water landing features. Random Cole, a master Second Life builder will help him realize the vision still in his head. News outlet Second Life Cable Network is adding $L5,000 of prize money for the occasion. According to avid fan Awenbunny Lisle, at least once a race someone cheers — as she did Saturday, “lookit that escargot!” Indeed, Awenbunny, lookit. The third anniversary race is set for Saturday 11/24/07 at 11:00 am SLT, 2:00PM Eastern. Montmartre (53,202,151) For iReports CNN this is Jim Sella.

Pino Masciari is a Calabrian ex-building contractor that rebelled to Calabria mafia’s threatening system many years ago. He sued his blackmailers starting a trial that is still running nowdays. After that day, mafia and many mafia-colluded Italian politicians forced him to close his company, and now Pino is hiding somewhere to avoid to be killed by mafia. While Italian State give to Pino broken armored cars, mobsters can still today walk freely in Calabria and act as gods. On 28 of October 2007, Pino managed to came back to Calabria with an escort to discuss with the ministry of inner affairs and other politicians why he have still to live as rat and mafiosi can do what they want. At the same time, Pino connected to Second Life at San Marco square in Venice Italy to explain to onlookers his situation. You can still contact him using the guest book from the Beppe Grillo Point in Venice Italy and in Lupulinus This is just the first step to ensure to Calabria and southern Italy a future free from mafia.
